Robin Williams - Age 63

Beloved actor and Oscar winner Robin Williams ended his life in August 2014 by hanging himself with a belt at his home in Paradise Cay, California. It was revealed after William’s death that the actor had been struggling with Lewy body dementia.

 

Jonathan Brandis

The star of Neverending Story II, Jonathan Brandis hanged himself and died from his injuries in the hospital the next day.

 

 

Lee Thompson Young

On August 19, 2013, Young failed to show up for filming an episode of Rizzoli & Isles. Police were called to do a well-being check on him at his Los Angeles apartment, where he was found dead. His manager stated that the actor committed suicide. Police confirmed that the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Young had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, for which he had been taking medication, and had been suffering from depression before his death.

 

 

 

Don Cornnelius

Creator and host of Soul Train, Don Cornelius committed suicide with a self-inflicted shot to the head. He had despaired over his declining health and suffered multiple seizures caused by an aneurysm 15 years previously.

 

Dana Plato

Child star of the television show Diff’rent Strokes, Dana Plato fell into drug addiction and committed suicide by taking an overdose of prescription meds in 1999.

Shakir Stewart

Def Jam executive vice president Shakir Stewart was found in his bathroom in his Atlanta area home. He suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His fiancé said he was “in deep pain and largely suffering in silence.”

Margaux Hemingway

On July 1, 1996, one day before the anniversary of her grandfather’s own suicide, Hemingway was found dead in her studio apartment. She had taken an overdose of phenobarbital.

 

The British actress appeared in Spiderman 3 and Serendipity and was sadly found dead in her Paris apartment. She hanged herself.
