Up and coming rapper, “Rich Homie Quan,” has been making a name for himself in the hip-hop community. At only twenty-three years of age, “Quan” has already experienced coming from the bottom to now selling out shows and making hit music. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, the oldest of three children in a single parent home, Quan endured struggle early on. Before taking rapping as a serious passion and career, he played baseball in high school and had dreams of playing in
the major leagues.
the major leagues.
With a passion for music and the ability to convey his story through his rhymes, Quan began spending many countless hours
in the studio. Strengthening his craft, in 2008 Rich Homie Quan made
his first successful hit named “Stay Down” featuring The Stack Money
Boys. Considerably, this was the beginning of Quan’s buzz in the
streets of Atlanta.
This newfound success for Quan was soon put on hold
when he found himself on the wrong side of the law, landing himself in
prison for a fifteen-month stint. While incarcerated Rich Homie Quan’s
Team continued making efforts, pushing his music on his behalf. Upon
his release, Quan got right back to making music without skipping a
beat. Soon after his stint Quan became signed to L.O.R. (Loyalty Over
Royalties) Records.
Rich Homie Quan’s work ethic is truly outstanding. With every downfall
he has continued to get up and work towards his dream of becoming an
established rapper. Following his recent hits “Type Of Way” and “Walk
Through” he is now truly making the name in hop-hop in which he’s been
working towards. These were both two of the biggest hits of the 2014
summer.
Quan has recently been signed on to Young Money Records. He is apart
of “Rich Gang” along side fellow artist and label mate “Young Thug.”
Thug and Quan first came together under Young Money to collaborate on
a song named “Lifestyle,” which has hit number five on the U.S.
billboard charts. Both of them have had success as solo artists, now
coming together to make an album. “Birdman,” CEO of Cash Money Records
had and has a vision for both Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug.
Fortunately, he has not been wrong before. Birdman has been known for
scouting new and up and coming acts such as Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki
Minaj and many more. A Rich Gang album has been released with mixed
reviews from critics. Quan has also had the opportunity to make a
track with Birdman named “Cash Money” off his mix-tape “I Promise I
Will Never Stop Going In.” The name of this mix-tape is a bold
statement from Quan alone. Rich Homie Quan’s now label mate, Drake
states that “Type Of Way” was the hit of the summer and that he
regrets not remixing it!
Rich Homie Quan has been blessing his audience with hit after hit and
doesn’t plan on slowing down! Now with Young Money behind him his
success and potential as a rapper has taken on a whole new form. There
is a lot of music and footage available of Quan’s start to fame to be
checked out. Best believe there is a lot more from Rich Homie Quan to
come…
