Keeping it Cute and Staying Warm - Fall to Winter Cold Weather Fashion Trends 2015 2016

In the summertime, the ladies are all about showing it off. Legs out, strutting in the sun in a mini or a sundress is great when the weather calls for it, but when that wind turns brisk and the chill is running up your back, that's not always going to be your best bet. You can have the best of both worlds though: looking fashionable and amazing while still dressing warmly and comfortably for the cold weather.

Layering is going to be a key essential and it's a great first step because you can use several layers that will trap the warmth in your body, but you can play with the pieces and make each one create its own statement. For instance, try a sheer peplum top, with a slouchy overlay sweater, something with an asymmetric cut or a jagged edge kind of feel which is very funky. Cocoon sweaters are also luxuriously warm and simply fabulous. Of course, you also could never go wrong with a structured jacket to change the look to business glam.

Pair these pieces with a perfect black or colored skinny jean. Don't be afraid to go bold with a pop of color, like red or purple. With some high leather boots, you are good to go! For extra warmth on a super cold day, make sure to either wear sweater tights or some thick opaque tights under the jeans. This is also where investing in some different jeggings can be a great idea as you can still slip into them comfortably while layering underneath for added warmth. High-waisted jeggings are a godsend ladies believe me, you won't be playing the pull them up game all day. You can add a legwarmer over the boots and that will change the way the whole boot looks! I always get compliments when I do this look. Another option is to add high socks which will peek out out from under the boots for a playful, sexy and fashionable feel, while adding yet another element of warmth. Super cute!

Accessories are so much fun in the winter time!! Long, opera length gloves are incredibly lush and eye catching and they keep your hands and arms warm simultaneously. Long gloves are great paired with cocoon sweaters and 3/4 or short length sleeves. Scarves, scarves, where do I begin? Infinity ones, long ones, fur ones (faux or real), wrap ones, sparkly ones- there are so many to choose from! Cable knit infinity scarves and fur scarves are the best for ultra warmth in my opinion. Ear warmers, hats- the important thing is to choose your outerwear the same way you would choose your fashion pieces, bearing in mind that the main idea is to stay warm. Don't be afraid to play with colors and patterns and stay true to your own style profile, fashionista!
